\"Sapphire<\/a>I was thinking that the\u00a0Sapphire HD 5850 Xtreme 1GB GDDR5 video card that I purchased for my HTPC 3 years ago was getting a little old and that it was time to upgrade.<\/p>\n

I was able to pick it up for $140 back then and it’s been a great card.<\/p>\n

So what can you get for $140 today? \u00a0Well, without mail-in-rebates, you are looking at something in the Radeon R7 260X range. \u00a0Is that an upgrade? \u00a0BARELY!.<\/p>\n

In fact, looking at the numbers, the difference probably wouldn’t even be that noticeable.<\/p>\n

With mail-in-rebates and sales, you can often find a R9 270\/270X for that price, which is a bit of an upgrade, but considering my card is 3 years old, that’s kinda sad.<\/p>\n

With Black Friday around the corner, I’m hoping to get a good deal on a R9 280\/285\/280X, which would be a definite improvement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
