Some of the games that I bought that day were purely for trade on Goozex, but this one I actually wanted to play. I don’t remember where I first heard about it, but at some point prior I had decided that I wanted to play it and added it as a request on Goozex.

Sadly, I was in 80th place in line on Goozex (the unfortunate case with new games). So imagine my surprise when I found it at Rogers Video for a mere $13.33 (buy 1 get 2 free at $40).

Anyway, I ended up playing and completing this game over the holidays. I finished it in 3 sessions over 3 days. Supposedly, there is about 10 hours of game play, but it felt more like 6 to 8 hours. Perhaps that’s a good thing that it seemed to go so quickly instead of dragging on.

Regardless, it was a lot of fun. Similar in gameplay/feel to perhaps Beyond Good & Evil or Oni not counting the whole escort aspect.

The graphics on the PS3 were great, although some of the initial animations seemed a little choppy. The voice acting was very good. There were some points early on where the dialogue was difficult to hear due to the music volume but that wasn’t a problem later on.

The Character development was done very well.

The story was interesting but I would have liked a bit more back story. You get some hints here and there throughout the game, but it doesn’t get addressed directly.

Overall, I really enjoyed it and in my case it was a definite win. I only paid $13.33 to buy it used and after finishing it, I traded it back out on Goozez for 1000 points (~$50). 😀

Metacritic rating: 80 out of 100
