Last night I finally finished Batman Arkham City. Not the main story mind you, I finished that some time ago. No, I finally finished the damn Riddler side mission.
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate a good value and I definitely got that here. I picked up Arkham City (PS3) for only $30 during a Best Buy sale only a week or two after release. Sadly, I only got around to playing it a couple of weeks ago.
As it was, I had found around 300 of the 440 total riddles by the time I finished the main story line. I could have left it at that, but decided for completeness sake I would finish all of the side missions, including the Riddler, which requires finding 400 riddles.
The other side missions didn’t take long to finish, but damn what a pain in the ass it was to find all of those damn Riddler trophies. I actually had to use a walkthrough and cheat for the last 8, I had just had enough by that time. Unfortunately, the reward for all of my hard work (grinding) was a short, easy to complete, not very Riddler “like” final mission. Disappointing to say the least.
Note that the game was great otherwise.
Sometimes it’s not easy being a Canadian on Goozex. Especially when you factor in the exorbitant rates charged by Canada Post. Would you believe that depending on the size and weight, it sometimes costs less to ship to the US then it would to ship across the country? On the other hand, if it weighs more than 100 g and you need to ship to the US, it costs over $5 (without tracking or insurance), which makes you think twice about listing 100 point games.
Anyway, the other day I was looking through my list of requests and I went and checked out my place in line for Red Dead Redemption for PS3. A small tear came to my eye as I noticed I was still in 85th place despite having had the game on my list for months. Heck, when I first added it, it didn’t even list my place in line, it simply said “Long wait…”; so I guess 85th place was an improvement.

In a previous post I mentioned buying a bunch of games from Rogers Video as part of their boxing day sale. One of those games was a PS3 game called Enslaved: Odyssey to the West developed by Ninja Theory.
Some of the games that I bought that day were purely for trade on Goozex, but this one I actually wanted to play. I don’t remember where I first heard about it, but at some point prior I had decided that I wanted to play it and added it as a request on Goozex.
Sadly, I was in 80th place in line on Goozex (the unfortunate case with new games). So imagine my surprise when I found it at Rogers Video for a mere $13.33 (buy 1 get 2 free at $40).

Ever heard of dealextreme? Ya, most people haven’t.
A co-worker told me about them a while ago, but I never actually dealt with them until today.
I was looking for a PS3 infrared remote control.
Really cheap units go for as little as $5 shipped on eBay, but I wanted one with a PS/Home button.
Eventually I came across a post on AVSForum from a member who purchased this one.
It appears to meet my needs so I decided to go for it. I ended up buying a couple of other cables and adapters at the same time because the prices are just so unbelievably low. Plus shipping is free!
I guess we will have to see. Maybe the prices are justified and the stuff is total crap. Only one way to find out. 😀
