I decided not to support Leisure Suit Larry

I’m actually pretty excited for the Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards re-make that will now be made as a result of their successful Kickstarter.

The only LSL game I ever played was Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude.  It’s nothing like the original and it was made without Al Lowe’s involvement, so it doesn’t really count.

I enjoyed Magna Cum Laude to a certain extent.  There was some fun to be had, but nothing groundbreaking.  It ended up continually crashing at a certain point and I was never able to finish it.  No big loss.

As a big adventure game fan, you would think I would be all over something like this.  I almost made a pledge, but once it hit the $500 000 target I figured I would just wait for the finished game to show up on Steam and get it on sale.

If the minimum pledge had been set at $10 instead of $15 (perhaps a more appropriate amount for a re-make vs. a new game) I probably would have done it either way.

That’s OK, it just means I have more money to pledge to the most important Kickstarter ever!!!!!!
