PAX 2010 – Swag-a-Plenty

Sega Hoodie

Probably one the coolest aspects of PAX is scoring SWAG, and there was SWAG-A-Plenty a this years PAX.

Over the 3 days I was able to score 23 t-shirts (2 doubles) and one hoodie.

My prize possession of the lot is definitely the Sega Hoodie (shown here).  This bad boy was given out as a parting gift at the Sega after party (PAX day 2 – Gameworks).  Notice the 4 images on the front?  Those are images of the controllers from the 4 main console systems that Sega once produced (Sega Master System, Genesis, Saturn & Dreamcast).  My inner Sega fan-boy was very grateful.

I’ve posted pictures of all the t-shirts I was able to score after the jump….

Despite my excellent collection of t-shirts there were still a few that I missed out on.

A big one was the Duke Nukem Forever t-shirt.  I wasn’t willing to wait 3 hours in line to try the game and get my tee.  I attempted to get in early on Sunday, but by the time I got there at 10:05 (5 minutes after opening) the line up was already 3 hours long.  Not worth it.

The Tron booth was fantastic and apparently they were giving out t-shirts.  I didn’t see anyone giving out tees, but I definitely would have liked one.

Despite that I am very happy with my collection.   🙂

  1. Nice collection! I only had 3 out of the 5 necessary buttons for the LOTR War in the North shirt even though I had made a media appointment to demo all of WB’s games. Most of the reps I met up with just forgot to give me a button 🙁 Media likes shirts and buttons too!

I also almost got one from Lego Universe online after I interviewed them, but I figured I had way too many shirts already.

Very nice score on the Sega hoodie in particular.

  2. That’s too bad about the buttons. It seemed like the media was being treated pretty well for the most part. They should have hooked you up with a t-shirt just for being media. 🙂

I ended up getting buttons for LOTR: Aragon’s Quest, LOTR: War in the North, Lego Universe and F1 2010. At that point I noticed that only 7 WB games were being shown so I asked about it. They pointed out that LOTR: Online was the 8th game and it was located at a different booth. Mortal Kombat and F.E.A.R 3 were crazy busy, so I walked over to the LOTR: Online booth. The lady there gave me a cool “One Ring” on a chain for trying out the game. That counted as my 5th “button”.

Lego Universe was OK, but F1 2010 blew. It looked like a PS2 game.

Yes, the Sega Hoodie is pretty sweet and was totally unexpected.

  3. […] I spent the rest of the day going from booth to booth getting a feel for what they were promoting and making mental notes for where I wanted to go the next day.  Along the way I was able to score 6 t-shirts (see my entire collection here). […]

  4. […] that, the show was over.  I made out pretty good, 23 t-shirts, 1 hoodie, one ring to rule them all, a bunch of buttons and some beta keys.  Ya OK, I made out […]
