Last night I finally finished Batman Arkham City. Not the main story mind you, I finished that some time ago. No, I finally finished the damn Riddler side mission.
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate a good value and I definitely got that here. I picked up Arkham City (PS3) for only $30 during a Best Buy sale only a week or two after release. Sadly, I only got around to playing it a couple of weeks ago.
As it was, I had found around 300 of the 440 total riddles by the time I finished the main story line. I could have left it at that, but decided for completeness sake I would finish all of the side missions, including the Riddler, which requires finding 400 riddles.
The other side missions didn’t take long to finish, but damn what a pain in the ass it was to find all of those damn Riddler trophies. I actually had to use a walkthrough and cheat for the last 8, I had just had enough by that time. Unfortunately, the reward for all of my hard work (grinding) was a short, easy to complete, not very Riddler “like” final mission. Disappointing to say the least.
Note that the game was great otherwise.
I almost crapped my pants when I read this….

and then watched this…..
Kickstarter announcement on YouTube
I’ve mentioned it before, but the Tex Murphy video games (well UAKM, PD and Overseer) are some of the greatest video games ever created. Don’t just take my word for it. Take a look at some of the YouTube reviews or read some of the comments following the Kickstarter announcement on any video game site. I’m not alone in my beliefs.
Anyway, it’s a little early to get too excited. The Kickstarter campaign doesn’t start until May 15th. In the mean time, the folks at Big Finish Games will be putting together the campaign details. They are also asking for suggestions for rewards and campaign ideas from fans. You can submit those ideas to their contact page at http://www.bigfinishgames.com/contact or on the Unofficial Tex Murphy web site.
Expect to hear a lot more about this once the campaign begins.
Well, I’m am almost completely out of General Mills Cineplex movie passes. I had a pretty good haul this year.
If my memory is correct, it looks I was watched 11 free movies in February and another 2 (2 for 1) in March. I wouldn’t mind a few more 2 or 1 passes, but I haven’t been able to locate any more boxes with passes on them. Pretty sad that they cleared out of stock and the promotion is supposed to continue until the end of May. Oh well, there’s always next year (hopefully).
As for the movies, the biggest surprises where the lesser known movies like The Grey, Chronicle and Goon. I actually really liked Chronicle. The disappointments were not surprisingly the big releases including Underworld: Awakening, Journey 2 and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (all sequels and all in 3D).
